Tanglefoot wire
Rabbit wire also known as tanglefoot wire is voluminous wire having high protective properties. Bob wire has been used by military corps for many years for construction of insurmountable obstacles which are hard barely visible at the same time. Efficiency of tanglefoot is proved by years of their application by military personnel for security of state border’s sectors and the perimeter of defense installations. Nowadays rabbit wire is also used for protection of many civil objects.
Tanglefoot is the wire obstacle which consists of garland of rings interconnected in a certain way. For manufacturing of tanglefoot thin steel rope wire of State Standard GOST 7372-79 with diameter 0,4-0,9 mm is used, which is hardly noticeable at site, this factor predetermines the name – rabbit wire or tanglefoot. Bob wire as a rule is installed in the form parallelepiped of certain height, width and length. During assemblage works tanglefoot can be slightly stretched out longways, in such a case height and width will be reduced respectively. The choice of bob wire assemblage method depends upon many factors, like the type of guarded object, terrain around the object, availability of luxuriant vegetation, availability of buildings and structures in bob wires assemblage area.
